The 1/10th NFASEB Coin (pictured above) was officially issued on September 1st, 2003, to the citizenry of the Northern Forest Archipelago's and a limited number of collectors and allies of the NFA. The run was limited to 250, after which the plates were destroyed. The Coin was issued to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the founding of the Northern Forest Archipelago, and helped to kick off the month-long celebration in Backwoods, the capital city of the NFA.

About the Coin

The coin is 1.5 inches across, and made from the various hardwoods available here in the NFA, and printed using non-toxic green ink. The choice to craft our coinage from wood was made based on the environmental concerns associated with mining and minting coins from metal, a process which uses many times more energy and creates more toxic by-products than the manufacture of our coinage does.

The front of the coin has our Micronation's name across the top, the denomination (1/10th NFASEB) across the middle, and a latin motto dear to the heart of our King, and reflective of our Micronation's path through our first five years, across the bottom (Ad Augusta Per Angusta, meaning "to high places by narrow paths"). The back of the coin details the dates of our existence (1998-2003) across the top, and has a wreath of greenery surrounded by the words "5th Anniversary".
